In a significant development, the Kathmandu Metropolitan Crime Investigation Division has successfully apprehended five individuals allegedly involved in the operation of sex trafficking through online platforms. The suspects, identified as Chhatra Bahadur Rokka (27), Seka Sarki (44), Shivaraj Pariyar (25), and Amrit Rokka (30), were arrested from various locations in Kathmandu and Lalitpur. This marks a crucial milestone in the ongoing efforts to curb illicit activities facilitated by social media networks.

According to law enforcement, the accused perpetrators are believed to have conducted their illicit activities using popular social media platforms in several areas, including Darbar Marg, New Bus Park, Tinglingatar, and Baneshwor. The arrests come as a result of heightened vigilance and coordinated efforts by authorities to combat online crimes, especially those that exploit vulnerable individuals.

The Kathmandu Metropolitan Crime Investigation Division is actively pursuing further investigations into the matter. Authorities have emphasized the need for continued collaboration with other relevant agencies to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the extent of online sex trafficking activities. This operation serves as a reminder of the challenges posed by the misuse of social media platforms for criminal activities and highlights the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to maintain the safety and security of the community.
