If you have been waiting on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 price in Nepal, there is good news and a caveat. Samsung has formally launched the eighth-generation foldable lineup here at a Kathmandu event, pre-orders are open, and the benefit packages are unusually rich — up to NPR 68,000 in value.
The caveat: Samsung Nepal did not put an official rupee price on the phones in its launch announcement. Everything you are seeing online right now with a confident-looking NPR figure is an estimate.
Here is exactly what is confirmed, what is not, and what it means if you are thinking of buying.
The short version
| Launched | Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Fold 8, Z Flip 8, Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 |
| Where | Kathmandu launch event, Thursday (Shrawan 28, 2083) |
| Pre-order | Open now, while stocks last |
| VIP package value | Up to NPR 68,000 |
| Standard package value | Up to NPR 58,000 |
| Financing | 40% down payment, 24-month EMI via Hulas Fin Serv |
| Premium financing | 20% down payment, up to 36-month EMI for eligible customers |
| Official NPR price | Not announced in the launch release |
What Samsung actually launched
Five products, not two:
- Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra — the new top of the foldable line
- Galaxy Z Fold 8 — the standard book-style foldable
- Galaxy Z Flip 8 — the clamshell
- Galaxy Watch 9
- Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
Samsung says the eighth generation brings broad improvements in design, durability and software. The larger displays on the Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra are pitched at reviewing, comparing and creating on a single screen without switching apps, while the Flip 8 is positioned around faster AI interaction. The new Watch lineup leans further into health and wellness tracking.
Samsung Nepal’s Managing Director Chang Uk Jung framed the pitch this way: a traditional smartphone acts only as a window for AI, while a foldable provides a full workstation. He also said Samsung’s goal in Nepal is not only selling products but building local capability among young people in areas like coding and AI.
The pre-order packages, in detail
Two tiers, running from Thursday while stocks last.
| Benefit | VIP package | Standard package |
|---|---|---|
| Total stated value | Up to NPR 68,000 | Up to NPR 58,000 |
| Ncell data and voice pack | 2 years free | Included |
| Exchange bonus | NPR 15,000 | Included |
| Galaxy Watch discount | NPR 10,000 | Included |
| Google AI Pro | 6 months free, stated value NPR 18,351 | Included |
| Free phone cover | Yes | Yes |
| Extended warranty | 2 years | 2 years |
Samsung has detailed the VIP tier component by component; the standard package is described as carrying “attractive facilities” up to NPR 58,000 without the same itemisation. If you are choosing between them, ask the retailer for the standard package broken down line by line before committing.
One honest note on how to read these numbers: “up to NPR 68,000 in benefits” is the sum of every component at its stated retail value. If you were never going to buy a Galaxy Watch, the NPR 10,000 watch discount is not money in your pocket. Count only the parts you would have paid for anyway.
Financing: this is the real story for most buyers
For a device in this price class, the payment terms matter more than the spec sheet.
- Standard route: 40% down payment, then 24-month EMI through Hulas Fin Serv
- Premium route: eligible high-tier customers can put down 20% and stretch to 36 months
- Trade-in bonus for handing over your old phone
- Remittance-linked cashback — aimed squarely at families receiving money from abroad
Samsung has also wired the buying journey through partnerships with IMS and Him Electronics, with digital KYC and remittance verification so you can complete the purchase from home or in store.
Before you sign anything, know what you are signing. An EMI arrangement through a finance company in Nepal is governed by NRB’s hire purchase rules, which cap penal interest at 2 percentage points and service charges at 1% of the loan — and, critically, mean you do not own the device until the final instalment clears. We broke those rules down in Hire Purchase in Nepal: The NRB Rules Every Vehicle Buyer Should Know; the same caps apply to consumer electronics financing.
Ask for the interest rate, the penal rate and the service charge in writing. On a 36-month term, a couple of points either way is real money.
What Samsung has not confirmed: the Galaxy Z Fold 8 price in Nepal
This is the part other coverage is glossing over.
Samsung Nepal’s launch announcement covers the lineup, the pre-order benefits, the financing structure and the ecosystem partnerships. It does not state an official NPR price for the Z Fold 8, the Z Fold 8 Ultra or the Z Flip 8.
Meanwhile, price-aggregator sites are already publishing figures — and they do not agree with each other. Circulating estimates for the Z Fold 8 range from roughly NPR 1,69,999 to NPR 2,34,999 depending on which site you read, with some extrapolating from Indian pricing to land near NPR 2,80,000. For the Z Flip 8 the spread is similarly wide.
A range that broad is not pricing information. It is guesswork dressed up in a table.
Our position: we will publish the Z Fold 8 series price in Nepal the day Samsung or an authorised retailer confirms it, with the date it was checked. Until then, this page says “not announced”, because a wrong price is worse than no price when you are budgeting a two-lakh purchase.
If you are pre-ordering now, get the final rupee figure in writing from the retailer before you pay the deposit.
The ecosystem play — and why it matters here
Samsung is stitching Ncell, eSewa and several financial partners into a single purchase flow. Combined with digital KYC and remittance verification, the practical effect is that a family member abroad can effectively underwrite a purchase made at home without either party visiting a counter.
That is a genuinely Nepal-shaped feature. Remittance funds a large share of consumer electronics buying here, and the friction has always been in the paperwork rather than the money.
On sustainability, Samsung has partnered with Apkudo to value old devices fairly, repair them and put them back into use — aimed at cutting e-waste. If you are trading in, that partnership is what determines your device’s assessed value, so it is worth asking how the valuation is done.
Is a foldable actually a good buy in Nepal?
Set the launch excitement aside for a moment. Three things decide this locally, and none of them are in the press release.
Service network. A foldable has a hinge and a crease-prone inner display — the two most expensive things to repair. Samsung has one of the better service footprints in Nepal, but confirm that your city’s service centre is authorised to handle foldable display and hinge repairs, not just standard bar phones. That answer differs outside Kathmandu.
Repair cost, not warranty length. Two years of extended warranty is genuinely useful. Ask what it excludes — inner display damage and hinge failure from ingress are the usual exclusions, and they are precisely the failures foldables have.
Dust and monsoon. Foldables have improved enormously on ingress protection, but a hinge is still a moving part in a country with a long dusty dry season and a serious monsoon. If you ride a bike daily with the phone in an open pocket, factor that in.
Resale. Foldables depreciate faster than flagship bar phones almost everywhere. On a 36-month EMI, you may still be paying for a device worth substantially less than the outstanding balance.
None of this makes a foldable a bad buy — it makes it a considered one.
What we would wait for before paying a deposit
Pre-order windows are designed to create urgency. Four things are worth holding out for, and none of them should take more than a phone call to the retailer.
- The official NPR price, confirmed by Samsung Nepal or an authorised retailer — not an aggregator site. Get it in writing, on the quotation.
- Variant-wise pricing. Storage tiers on foldables carry large gaps. A figure quoted for “the Z Fold 8” is meaningless until you know whether it is the 256GB or 512GB unit, and whether the Ultra is priced separately.
- The standard package broken down line by line. Samsung has itemised the VIP tier publicly but described the NPR 58,000 standard package only in general terms. Until you see the components, you cannot tell whether the gap between tiers is NPR 10,000 of real value or NPR 10,000 of things you will never use.
- Written EMI terms — interest rate, penal rate, service charge and total amount repayable over the full term. On a 36-month agreement, the difference between a well-priced and a badly-priced facility can exceed the value of the entire pre-order bonus.
If all four check out and a foldable suits the way you actually work, the benefits attached to this launch are among the strongest Samsung has put behind a Nepali release.

The bottom line on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 price in Nepal
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 series is officially in Nepal, the pre-order benefits are substantial, and the financing terms — particularly 20% down over 36 months for eligible buyers — bring a foldable within reach of buyers who would previously have been priced out.
What is still missing is the number that matters most. Until Samsung Nepal confirms the Galaxy Z Fold 8 price in Nepal, treat every figure you see as a placeholder, and get your quote in writing.
We will update this page with official pricing the moment it is confirmed.
