NTC Data Pack List with Codes [2026 Guide]

Checked August 2026. NTC reprices packs frequently — the codes and structure here are stable; treat any specific price as indicative and verify in the menu before confirming.

Nepal Telecom’s data packs hide behind a USSD menu most people never fully explore. This guide maps the NTC data pack system — the codes, the pack families, and the fine print — so you stop overpaying for data on the network with Nepal’s widest coverage.

The master codes

What Code / place
All data packs menu \*1415#
Balance and usage \*400#
Nepal Telecom app full catalogue + app-only offers
Customer care 1498

Two access points matter: \*1415# works on any handset without data; the NT app shows everything plus app-exclusive offers that the USSD menu omits — check both before buying anything large.

The pack families

Standard data packs (1–30 day validity). The core catalogue, from small daily packs to multi-GB monthlies. The per-GB maths from our data pack comparison guide applies: normalise everything to the 28-day equivalent before judging value, and buy the size you actually finish.

Social packs. App-specific bundles (TikTok, YouTube, Facebook families) at per-GB rates below open data. Menu path: inside \*1415# under social/apps options, or the app’s social section. The definition trap: “app data” excludes some in-app browser links — heavy link-openers should prefer open data.

Night packs. Off-peak windows at the catalogue’s cheapest rates. Students and downloaders who genuinely live at night: value. Everyone else: an unused pack is a donation to NTC.

Combo/voice+data packs. Bundles of minutes plus data, strongest around festivals. Worth it only if both halves match your usage — price the halves separately in your head before buying the marriage.

Tourist/short-validity packs. For visitors and emergencies; worst per-GB in the catalogue for residents.

The traps, NTC edition

  1. Auto-renewal defaults. Several NTC packs renew silently and eat main balance when they can’t. After every activation, check the renewal status in the app and disable unless wanted.
  2. 4G-session fine print. Some promotional packs count only 4G usage; fringe-coverage users falling to 3G may leak main balance. Read the offer line in the menu.
  3. Bonus-data splits. “X GB + X GB bonus” typically means the bonus lives in night hours or shorter validity. The headline number is not your daytime data.
  4. Overlap waste. Buying a new pack rarely pauses the old one — data usually draws from the earliest-expiring first, but overlapping validities still waste rupees. Finish, then refill.

Getting the most from NTC data

  • Set the phone’s data-usage counter to your pack’s renewal date — rationing beats surprise.
  • App updates to Wi-Fi-only; video autoplay off — the two biggest silent drains.
  • On the fringes, force 4G in network settings where signal allows; NTC’s 4G footprint is the country’s widest, as our NTC vs Ncell comparison details.

Frequently asked questions

What is the code for NTC data packs? \*1415# opens the full data pack menu on any NTC SIM. The Nepal Telecom app carries the same catalogue plus app-only offers.

How do I check my NTC data balance? \*400# for balance and usage, or the NT app’s dashboard for pack-wise breakdown.

Which NTC pack is the cheapest per GB? Night packs and large social bundles, structurally. Among open-data packs, the largest 28-day pack you can finish is the best rate.

Why did my NTC balance disappear? Almost always: pack expired or exhausted and usage fell to per-MB main-balance rates, or an auto-renewal fired. Check the app’s history — and disable renewals you didn’t choose.

Do NTC packs work on 3G? Standard packs, yes; some 4G-flagged promos count 4G sessions only. The offer text in the menu states it — read before buying.

The bottom line

The NTC data pack system rewards two habits: buying through \*1415# or the app with the per-GB maths done, and auditing auto-renewal after every activation. Add the social-pack option when one app dominates your usage, and Nepal’s widest network becomes its best-value one too.
